Membership Requirements:
- Enrollment in satellite program
- Payment of annual fees
- Compliance w/school requirements
Membership Dues/Fee: no support group fees beyond school enrollment fees
Purpose: Support of homeschooling families in academics, fine arts, school guidance, college counseling, testing, ACT & special ed. referrals.
Activities/Field Trips, etc.:
- On-campus full-time school classes open to enrolled off-campus students as space available, grades 7-12, all regular school subjects.
- School athletic teams no longer open to homeschool students
- ACT/SAT Test Prep Courses, Saturdays through the year and a week in June
- Annual PSAT administered on campus in October each year (10th & 11th grades)
- Annual academic & fine arts competitions through Tennessee Association of Christian Schools – district level in Memphis, February; state level in Murfreesboro, March; national level in Greenville, SC, April. FHCA Large Vocal Ensemble won first place in the nation in highly competitive contest (American Association of Christian Schools) in April 2009. This group included several of our off-campus (homeschool) students. Off-campus students won first in state competition in piano, string, and vocal solos and visual art.
- AWANA – weekly Sunday evening, regional competitions for 3rd – 12th in Olathe, Kansas; national competition in Raleigh NC, in April 2009.
- Jr./Sr. Formal Banquet, May 8, 2009, at the Tower Room of the Clark Tower.
- Graduation Ceremony, May 15, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Millington. 56 off-campus graduates received high school diplomas with 90% eligible for the Tennessee Hope Scholarship (8% Mississippi residents), and 11 of these graduates also qualified for the additional GAMS (General Assembly Merit Scholarship). One graduate was recognized as a 2009 National Merit Scholarship Finalist. One off-campus graduate received special cords for participating in FHCA/MIT overseas mission project to South Korea during high school.
- Periodic parents’ orientation meetings, usually 4-5 each fall
- Seminar on test preparation with speaker, Ms. Maude Bryeans, February 2009 (each year).
- Basketball Camp, June 2008; Fine Arts Camp, July 2008; Soccer Camp, August 2008
- Summer seminars for rising seniors, Preparation for Graduation (by appointment) throughout the summer.
- National Geographic School Bee and Scripps Spelling Bee won by off-campus students.
- Administer the Stanford Achievement Test in late March and April each year to enrolled students, grades 1-11 in Collierville, Cordova, and Millington
