How much is an MHEA membership?
MHEA membership fees are an annual $33 fee per family with the newsletter mailed to you or $27 fee per family by viewing the newsletter on the MHEA website. This fee includes a year's subscription to our monthly newsletter - News & Views. The newsletter contains information on support group news, MHEA news, sports events, classified advertising and more. It also includes your $9 membership dues to Tennessee Home Education Association (THEA) and your $6 MHEA membership dues.
What benefits do we get with an MHEA membership?
Along with many statewide benefits, (i.e., monitoring legislation, lobbying efforts, liaison between homeschoolers and public officials, etc.) there are local benefits as well. For example, the following events are only for MHEA members – Kindergarten Graduation, High School Graduation, Sports programs, Teen out-of-town Trips (ex. Europe Trip 1999), Cheerleading, Honor Society, Field Day, Sue Parkerson Scholarship Fund, Senior High Banquet, and Science Fair. Also, members receive discounts at these and other area businesses – Kinko's, Barnes and Noble, Border's, Davis-Kidd, Hancock's Fabric Store, Office Depot and Store of Knowledge.
